Rate comparison at fulfilment
Motho compares rates at the moment you fulfil, not at checkout. You quote your customer whatever you like in Shopify Shipping, then choose the cheapest or fastest courier for the actual parcel — the margin between the two is yours.

Shopify shipping questions
Does Motho show rates at Shopify checkout or at fulfilment?
At fulfilment. You keep whatever checkout rates you've set in Shopify Shipping — flat rate, free over a threshold, weight-based — and Motho compares the real courier rates when you book. Carrier-calculated rates at checkout require Shopify's Advanced plan or annual billing; most of our merchants find fulfilment-time comparison both cheaper and more profitable.
Does it work with Shopify multi-location inventory?
Yes. Each Shopify location maps to a Motho collection address, so a parcel fulfilled from your Cape Town warehouse is collected there and rated from there. Split fulfilments across locations create separate shipments.
What happens to cash-on-delivery orders?
COD is supported on the couriers in the network that offer it. The order syncs as unpaid, you flag it as COD when booking, and the collected amount is reconciled back against the order once the courier settles.
Which Motho plan do I need for Shopify?
The free tier covers the Shopify connection and low monthly volumes. Paid plans add extra sales channels, more users and priority support — see pricing for the current thresholds.
Can I keep using Shopify's notification emails?
Yes. Because Motho creates a real Shopify fulfilment with the tracking number attached, your existing shipping-confirmation and out-for-delivery emails work as they always have. Motho's branded tracking is an addition, not a replacement.
